The main contact occurs at the tip of the nail, not on the pad, and there are no forced movements: Your dog scratches at their own pace, for a few minutes, voluntarily. When used correctly and under supervision, it does not affect the pads. In fact, it is much gentler than holding the leg and cutting by force.
